INFOGRAPHIC: Average Like Totals for Facebook Pages Creep Up

The average number of likes for Facebook pages when divided into groups by size was up only slightly in most cases in February 2015 compared with the year-ago month, according to social analytics provider Quintly.

Quintly divided its page groups as follows:

  • 1,000 likes and under: 360 average likes in February 2015, versus 352 in February 2014
  • 1,000 to 10,000 likes: 3,963 versus 3,941
  • 10,000 to 100,000 likes: 36.415 versus 35,941
  • 100,000 to 1 million: 340,895 versus 345,193
  • 1 million to 10 million: 2,827,640 versus 2,681,352
  • 10 million and above: 23.710,346 versus 22,892,577

Pages were also analyzed by distribution of likes, comments and shares on page posts; interaction rate; average number of interactions versus people talking about this; number of page posts; and number of user posts.

Quintly said in a blog post announcing its findings:

We found out that the average number of Facebook fans has become more stable, but still growing, compared with our analysis in September 2014. Through key performance indicators such as Interaction rate and number of user posts, we can see that the average user is more likely to engage with Facebook fan pages compared with five months ago.
